Origin
Australia and New Zealand, WWI
"The biscuits were baked by mothers, wives and daughters in church halls across the country, then packed into tins and sent across the ocean. They arrived hard as stone and were broken with the back of a knife. Nothing has tasted more like home since.
"Anzac Day
The name is protected by Australian and New Zealand law. You cannot legally market a commercial product as "Anzac" anything without government approval. The biscuit recipe itself, however, has never changed.
