Æbleskiver
The Scandinavian dough balls that look like spheres but started as wedges. Cooked in a cast iron pan with seven hemispherical wells, turned with a knitting needle, served at Christmas markets across Denmark, Norway and southern Sweden.

You need the actual æbleskiver pan with the seven wells. A regular frying pan cannot make these. Look for cast iron at IKEA, John Lewis, or any Nordic kitchen shop. Substitutes fail.
