The Five Lands
The Sentiero Azzurro is the trail that ties the five villages of the Cinque Terre together, a footpath cut into the terraced cliffs above the Ligurian Sea. It climbs and drops between the painted harbours of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, through vineyards held up by drystone walls built over centuries. Every village has a train station, so you can walk as much or as little as you like.
