Pulpit Rock
Preikestolen is a near perfect square of flat rock that hangs 604 metres directly above the Lysefjord, with no railing and a sheer drop to the water. The trail in is a steady 4 kilometre climb over boulders and wooden walkways, busy in summer with people of every fitness level. There is no barrier at the top, just the edge of the cliff and the fjord far below.

The trailhead lodge is a short drive or shuttle bus from Stavanger via the ferry. Go early or late in the day to miss the crowds at the rock.
