The Enfield Poltergeist
Between 1977 and 1979 a council house in North London became the most documented poltergeist case in British history. Police officers, journalists and psychic researchers all witnessed events there. Much of it has never been explained.

Who was Bill Wilkins?
In December 1977 a deep voice began speaking through Janet, age 11. It claimed to be Bill Wilkins, a former resident who said he died in the house in 1963. The name and details were later traced to a man who had lived at the address.
The case was investigated for over 18 months by Maurice Grosse and Guy Lyon Playfair of the Society for Psychical Research.
Sceptics argued the children faked some events. Witnesses insisted the core phenomena had no ordinary explanation. The debate continues today.
